What is ionized air? An atom or a molecule that has either gained or lost an electron can produce ionized air.

A positive ion is one which has lost an electron

A negative one has gained an electron. If you think of it as a positive one wanting more energy to be stable, and a negative one wanting to give energy away to be stable, you’ll understand why we benefit energetically from negative ions and lose energy to positive ones.

Of the 3 sizes of available negative oxygen ions, only the smallest are useful to us because they are the only ones absorb-able and have health-supporting effects on the human body.

We find these small ions (healthful ionized air) in areas close to the seashore, waterfalls, or in high Alps.

Although negative ions in country air should be 2-4000 ions/cc, BioMedicine’s investigations have shown actual counts to be far less. This is due to atmospheric pollution and possibly the increase in EMF.

To give an example ~ testing of ionized air (that we witnessed) about 1 mile from the ocean ~ with an onshore wind gave only 175-250 ions/cc/sec, and a positive ion count of around 750 ions/cc/sec.

Close to the sea we observed a negative ion concentration of only 150 ions/cc. Given that the average human requires 2000 cc/second, one can readily see that today’s urban environment falls far short of even minimal requirements. There are, therefore, significant advantages in using ionized air purifiers even in non-urban areas.

HOW ARE IONS MADE IN NATURE?

Cosmic rays bombarding the atmosphere, lightning and also radiation causes ionization. (text from: .ionizers.org)
