I had gone several days with out sleeping. My mind became over whelmed with my commitments. A B&B is a business, just as any other business, we have to meet our financial obligations. To do so we have book keeping, credit card machines, banking issues, correspondences, guest requests, cancellations, reservation changes, household hardware issues, computer and software issues… All of it requires our attention simultaneously to enjoying our guests.
I must tell you on occasion a guest will pose the question, what is the worst thing a guest has ever done? Or, what do you hate about being an innkeeper? I will tell you this: The 2 times we’ve answered that question the guest’s face dropped after hearing the answer. With our lesson now learned–we have no desire to pull the curtain back to show the little OZ man pulling the strings, but I do hope to give you a peek into the life of an innkeeper
